Fasting:
Healthy adult Muslims abstain from all food and drink (including water) from dawn until sunset.
Prayer:
In addition to the five daily prayers, many perform special nightly prayers called Taraweeh.
Charity:
Muslims are encouraged to give Zakat (obligatory charity) and Sadaqah (voluntary charity) to help those in need.
Spiritual Growth:
The month is a time for self-discipline, reading the entire Quran, and strengthening community ties.
